DAY 15 JAN 15, 2013 EVEN MORE

For the past lots of years I have worked every day in a restaurant. Within 20 feet of my office is anything you want to eat. I'm not bragging, but there is not one food item that we can not make, create, or have delivered if needed here in the center of the Universe, Rock Center, NYC. That said, I have done my share of eating, and grazing and tasting. I advocate a meal plan to anyone that wants to lose weight or maintain their size, as I understand all too well hidden eating. That said, someone asked me today to post exactly what I am eating in a day. As my Challenge is to eat at my goal weight, I am allowed... wait for it... 2400 calories per day. I eat less, but that will get me where I want to be if I stay focused. So what did I put and what will I put in my belly today.

Breakfast
3 eggs, scrambled with zero calorie pan release (so it doesn't stick), with some chopped onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, salt and pepper. It was almost exactly 300 calories, on a plate with Iced Coffee, 2 equals and a splash of Soy Milk.. .
No SNACKS !!
Lunch
6 ounce grilled piece of salmon, no oil or butter, cold on top of a large Caesar Salad with Romaine, and dressing, no Croutons. Let's go with 400 calories for lunch and I am full
When I get home I will slice 2 Roma Apples and eat them with the puppies after our walk 120 Calories, maybe
Dinner
Tonight I am picking up food from the Chicken Kebob, a Lebanese restaurant near our new home. I have been eating there for over 15 years, and I know what goes into their food. Tonight I will enjoy 6 ounces of grilled chicken, a side of rice pilaf and a small greek salad with no feta Cheese. Let's go with 400 calories for dinner.
After dinner Snacks !!
Hey Kenlie, I will have 1 cup of Organic Popped Popcorn from Pathmark, and another Apple. 200 calories after dinner, before bed.

For the day, an average day of eating, I will ingest 1400-1500 calories. A little high for me, the snacks add up, but we are being honest here. I will lose weight eating this clean way every day. The key, with the fluids and water, will be to stay on the plan, and not eat some Ice Cream, or some other crap. It is not complex, you need no scale, look at the food and make a decision.

  3. I could die happy if my goal weight let me eat 2400 calories. Sigh. I love lebanese style chicken kabobs. Seriously, one of my fave dinners.

  5. Your plan sounds good, Allan. I'm probably not going over that even though I haven't completely stuck with my own plan. I slept late today so what I've had is about 6 - 8 oz of baked salmon. Nothing else right now. I've also had 2 bottles of water. I need to work on that as soon as the salmon settles.

  7. I think I was mere yards from where your restaurant is located. Mom and I were up in NYC in mid-December helping my little (okay, 32-year-old) sister and BIL by watching their 2-year-old daughter while my sister wrote papers -- she just finished her first semester working on a graduate degree at NYU.

But before we took over the care of My Niece, we made a run by the American Girl store, ate at TGI Fridays (because it was on our way and we were starving), and saw the tree at Rockefeller Center. I was the lamest, gawkiest tourist whoever toured. It was awesome :)
